The Story
When we set out to create our Turquoise Lotus Flower Earrings, we needed a point of reference—a symbol that would give the design both purpose and meaning.
The lotus flower provided that inspiration. Rising from muddy waters to bloom in beauty, the lotus has long symbolized growth, transformation, and the journey toward becoming our best selves. It offers a mental image of what is possible, even when the path forward is not always straight or easy.
Paired with turquoise and its traditional metaphysical associations with wisdom, protection, and clear communication, a story begins to emerge. Together, the lotus and turquoise create more than just a beautiful pair of earrings; they form a symbolic journey.
In many ways, that journey resembles an unalome—a winding path marked by lessons, challenges, growth, and ultimately greater clarity. The design reflects not only what these earrings are, but also what they aspire to represent: a reminder that every step along our path contributes to who we become.

So how did we make them?
Whenever possible we try not to mix metals or gemstones unless there is a purpose for it. As well we have the good fortune of have our own supply store to choose from. So for these earrings, we stuck with TierraCast gold pewter and #8 Mine Turquoise.

Jump Rings and Wire (Gold-plated/Gold-filled)
The techniques used to create these earrings are relatively simple: basic wirework and opening and closing jump rings are the primary skills involved. The challenge lies not in the mechanics, but in the details. Multiple design elements and layers are needed to work together in harmony, requiring careful attention to symmetry, balance, and proportion. Even the choice of individual beads influenced the final composition, making bead selection as important as the assembly itself.
